Gravity from transactions: fulfilling the entropic gravity program

چکیده
This is a review of new developments in entropic gravity light the Relativistic Transactional Interpretation (RTI). A transactional approach to spacetime events can give rise natural way (in originally proposed by Erik Verlinde) while also overcoming extant objections that research program. The theory naturally gives Cosmological Constant and Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) thus provides physical explanation for phenomena historically attributed "dark energy" matter".

Is Gravity Entropic Force?
If we assume that the source of thermodynamic system, ρ and p, are also the source of gravity, then either thermal quantities, such as entropy, temperature, and chemical potential, can induce gravitational effects, or gravity can induce thermal effects. We find that gravity can be seen as entropic force only for systems with constant temperature and zero chemical potential. The case for Newtoni...
متن کاملIs Gravity an Entropic Force?
The remarkable connections between gravity and thermodynamics seem to imply that gravity is not fundamental but emergent, and in particular, as Verlinde suggested, gravity is probably an entropic force. In this paper, we will argue that the idea of gravity as an entropic force is debatable. It is shown that there is no convincing analogy between gravity and entropic force in Verlinde’s example....
متن کاملWhat is the Entropy in Entropic Gravity?
We investigate theories in which gravity arises as an entropic force. We distinguish between two approaches to this idea: holographic gravity, in which Einstein’s equation arises from keeping entropy stationary in equilibrium under variations of the geometry and quantum state of a small region, and thermodynamic gravity, in which Einstein’s equation emerges as a local equation of state from con...
متن کاملEntropic Phase Maps in Discrete Quantum Gravity
Path summation offers a flexible general approach to quantum theory, including quantum gravity. In the latter setting, summation is performed over a space of evolutionary pathways in a history configuration space. Discrete causal histories called acyclic directed sets offer certain advantages over similar models appearing in the literature, such as causal sets. Path summation defined in terms o...
متن کاملThe Affine Quantum Gravity Program
The central principle of affine quantum gravity is securing and maintaining the strict positivity of the matrix {ĝab(x)} composed of the spatial components of the local metric operator. On spectral grounds, canonical commutation relations are incompatible with this principle, and they must be replaced by noncanonical, affine commutation relations. Due to the partial second-class nature of the q...
